Cois Coiribe, Spring 2021, puts a spotlight on research and debate within our university community on Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI).
Our objective is to open up a broader debate about the meaning and implications of these words for humanity but also for our university, both its own culture and organisation, and in its work as a teaching and research-led University.
The diverse and varied contributions illustrate the immensity of the subject and its sub-strands. They also make clear just how much work in this area remains to be done – or even considered.
EDI refers to a broad range of study that goes to the very heart of human experience. The common thread is a call for equality of respect for all people, everywhere.
The views (and findings) in the 25 articles in this edition of Cois Coiribe are those of the authors. They do not purport to be an exhaustive exploration of the subject: on the contrary, we expect to be returning to this place many times in the future.
